1 INSTALLER
As a Gas Safe/OFTEC/HETAS/MCS registered installer, confirm that the householder’s boiler is G rated and in working order (a householder over 60 is eligible for the grant even if the boiler is not working). Provide them with your estimate for a new A rated boiler and your installation fee.
2 HOMEOWNER
You need to provide the following information to The Energy Saving Trust:
- Full name and address of where boiler is being claimed for
- The name and make of obsolete boiler
- Installer’s company details
- Installer’s Gas Safe/OFTEC/HETAS/MCS registration number
- Installer’s confirmation that a quote has been issued for the work
- Then email boilerscrappage@est.org.uk or call 0800 512 012 with these details

3 INSTALLER AND HOMEOWNER
The Energy Saving Trust will send a voucher to the householder 10 days after the application, which is valid for 12 weeks. On completion and when the invoice has been paid in full, the householder should send the voucher along with the invoice to The Energy Saving Trust and they will receive a £400 rebate within 25 days.
