In addition to its voice, Nest Protect uses colours to communicate - The LED ring has 4 colours:

• Green - Nest Protect constantly monitors its sensors and batteries. The ring glows green when the lights are turned of to indicate everything is working and you can have a sound sleep.
• White - When you walk under the Nest Protect it illuminates to light your way. Multiple light levels available, alternatively you can turn the Pathlight off entirely via the app.
• Yellow - If there is only a little smoke the ring will glow yellow and give you a friendly prompt to check everything is okay.
• Red - When smoke or carbon monoxide reaches dangerous levels, the Nest Protect’s alarm will sound, whilst the ring pulses red and tells you where the emergency is occurring.
