MP Moran has been supplying plumbers, heating engineers and homeowners across London and Hertfordshire since 1976. With six branches, trade accounts, and a full plumbing and heating range in stock, we make it easy to get what you need for the job. Here are answers to some of the questions we're asked most.

MP Moran is a family-run builders' and plumbers' merchant, founded in 1976 by Michael Moran on Kilburn High Road. Fifty years on, we're still family owned, and we've grown from that single branch into six locations across London and Hertfordshire. Today we supply trade professionals, contractors and homeowners with everything from plumbing and heating to timber, landscaping and building materials. Alongside our merchant branches, we also operate dedicated Kitchen & Bathroom Showrooms. You can find full details of who we are and what we offer on our About Us page. If you'd like to see us in person, our branch locator has opening hours and directions for every site.
Our plumbing and heating range is built to cover a full installation from start to finish. That includes plumbing fittings, pipes and tubes, boilers, central heating and cylinders, underfloor heating, water pumps and water storage, plus pipe insulation, plumbing tools and ventilation products. We stock trusted trade brands including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Polypipe and Honeywell, so you're not compromising on quality to get the job done quickly. Whether you're a heating engineer sourcing parts for an install or a homeowner replacing a tap, our branches carry the everyday essentials as well as the specialist lines. You can browse the full range on our Plumbing & Heating category page, or pop into your local branch and speak to the team if you're not sure exactly what you need.
Yes, we stock a full range of combi, system, open vented and commercial boilers across all six branches. Which one is right for you depends on things like your property size, hot water demand and existing heating setup, and getting that wrong can mean paying for more capacity than you need or ending up short on hot water at peak times. Our branch teams can talk through your requirements and point you towards a suitable output and boiler type, though for anything with gas or building regulations implications you'll still need a Gas Safe registered engineer to size and install it. You can browse the full range on our Boilers category page, filtering by type and brand. If you already know roughly what you're after, checking stock online before you travel will save you a wasted trip.
We stock boilers and heating systems from well established manufacturers including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Ideal, alongside other trusted names like Baxi and Glow-worm. Having a range of brands in stock means you can specify to a customer's budget or preference rather than being tied to a single manufacturer, which matters if you're pricing jobs against other installers. Each brand tends to have its own strengths, whether that's warranty length, parts availability or a particular boiler range that suits certain property types, so it's worth asking in branch if you're weighing up options. Manufacturer warranties and any registered installer requirements sit with the brand directly rather than with us, so check the specific terms before you commit to a model. You can see what's currently in stock across brands on our Boilers category page.
Yes, we stock air source heat pumps as part of our renewable heating range, alongside the accessories needed to install them. Heat pumps work by moving heat from the outside air rather than burning fuel to generate it, which typically makes them cheaper to run than direct electric heating, and they qualify for the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. They perform best at lower flow temperatures, so they're often paired with underfloor heating or larger radiators rather than a standard existing radiator setup. Installation needs to be carried out by an MCS-accredited engineer for the property to remain eligible for the grant, so factor that into your planning if you're specifying one for a customer. You can read more about how heat pumps work and browse the range on our Heat Pumps page.
Our branch staff can offer general guidance on pipe sizing, fitting selection and product compatibility based on their product knowledge and day-to-day experience with the range we stock. For anything that touches building regulations, such as full heating system design, boiler sizing or gas work, that advice needs to come from a qualified Gas Safe engineer or heating designer rather than from a merchant, since we're not able to sign off on compliance. What we can do is help you get the right materials once the specification is set, and flag if something you're asking for looks unusual for the job you've described. Bringing along your existing pipework details, property size or a rough sketch of the system helps the team point you towards the right parts more quickly. If it's a larger or more technical job, it's worth calling ahead so the team can have time to look into stock and compatibility before you visit. You can find contact details for your nearest team on our branch locator.
Opening a trade account is quick, and you can apply either online or in branch, whichever suits you best. Once approved, your account gives you access to trade pricing across our full range, including plumbing and heating supplies. You'll also benefit from monthly invoicing, so you're not paying for materials job by job, along with dedicated account support from your local branch team. Trade accounts are a good fit for plumbers, heating engineers and contractors who order regularly and want a faster checkout process. Visit our trade account page to see the full benefits and start your application, or ask a member of staff at any of our six branches.
No, our plumbing and heating range is open to everyone, and you don't need a trade account to shop with us in branch or online. Homeowners are just as welcome as professional plumbers and heating engineers, whether you're buying a single tap washer or fitting out a full bathroom. Opening a trade account is entirely optional, but if you order regularly it's worth doing since it unlocks trade pricing, monthly invoicing and dedicated account support. There's no minimum spend or project size required to register, so it's just as suited to a sole trader as it is to a larger contracting business. You can browse the full Plumbing & Heating range without an account, and apply for trade pricing on our trade account page whenever you're ready.
For larger heating installs, such as a full re-plumb, a new build project or multiple properties, it's worth speaking to your local branch directly rather than pricing everything individually online. Depending on the size and regularity of your order, the team can look at project pricing that reflects the volumes involved, which a trade account will already put you in a good position for through standard trade pricing. Having a materials list or spec sheet ready when you get in touch makes it much easier for the team to put together an accurate quote quickly. This applies to full heating systems as much as it does to bulk pipe, fitting or radiator orders. Trade account holders are generally best placed to access this kind of pricing, so it's worth applying for one on our trade account page before a large order if you haven't already. Your nearest branch team can talk you through the options, details on our branch locator.
Yes, we offer both delivery and free Click & Collect on plumbing and heating orders across all six branches. Click & Collect lets you order online and pick up in store, usually within around 2 hours depending on stock availability, so it's a good option if you need materials the same day. If you'd rather have your order brought to you, we offer standard and express delivery, with express aimed at getting urgent items to you within 1 to 2 business days. You can find full details, including timings and coverage, on our Delivery Information page and our Click & Collect page. If you're not sure which option suits your job best, your local branch team can talk you through it.
You don't need a minimum order to shop with us, and Click & Collect works just as well for a single fitting or a full pallet of pipe. If a single small item doesn't justify a delivery charge, collecting from branch is usually the more practical option and it's free either way. Standard delivery does have qualifying thresholds for free delivery on certain orders, so smaller or one-off items may carry a delivery charge depending on size and value. Full terms, including current thresholds and any exclusions, are on our Delivery Information page. If you're ever unsure whether an item is worth delivering versus collecting, your local branch can talk you through the cost either way. You can also check live stock and choose Click & Collect at checkout via our Click & Collect page.
Yes, plumbing and heating products we stock carry their manufacturer's standard warranty, and warranty length and terms vary by brand and product, so it's worth checking the specifics for the item you're buying before you install it. Where a manufacturer offers a helpline, repair service or extended warranty registration, we'd always recommend contacting them directly, since they're best placed to handle warranty claims and technical support for their own products. If an item arrives faulty or damaged, that's a separate matter to warranty, and our own returns process covers that within 14 days of delivery, provided it's reported promptly with photos of any damage. Certain items, such as those cut to size or made to order, aren't eligible for our standard returns process, so check before ordering if that applies to you. Full details on returns, damage reporting and what's excluded are on our Returns & Refunds page. If you're not sure whether a fault is a warranty issue or a delivery issue, get in touch with your branch and they'll point you in the right direction.
All six of our branches stock plumbing and heating supplies, so you'll find what you need close to home or site wherever you're based. That includes Watford, Kilburn, Willesden, West Hampstead, Kennington and Tottenham. Stock levels on specialist or bulkier items can vary a little branch to branch, so it's worth checking availability online before you travel if you're after something specific. Each branch page has up to date opening hours, contact details and directions. If your nearest branch doesn't have what you need in stock, the team can usually source it from another location for you. Use our branch locator to find your nearest one and get in touch.
